Help for Women is a UK-registered charity (Charity Number 1196861) dedicated to supporting women and girls in Mozambique who are living in financial hardship.

Founded by Milena and her daughter, who were both born in Mozambique and later made their home in the UK, the charity began as a simple idea: to give back to the communities they grew up in and to help other women find hope and stability in difficult circumstances.

What started as a small family effort has grown into a shared mission, supported by family and friends who believe that empowering women is key to breaking the cycle of poverty.

Through the provision of funds, essential items, and community support, Help for Women works to make a direct, positive impact on the lives of those who need it most.

Since becoming a registered charity in 2021, Help for Women has already made a tangible difference to the lives of women and families in Mozambique.

Thanks to generous supporters and the dedication of our small family team, we have:

Built a safe home for a single mother and her children who were living without shelter — giving them security, dignity, and hope.

Provided financial assistance and essential goods to women in urgent need, helping them rebuild stability for their families.

Started planning our next major project — to fill and ship a container with donated items such as clothing, bicycles, sewing machines, and cooking tools that can help women start small trades and improve their livelihoods.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come — but this is only the beginning. Every act of kindness helps us reach another woman, another family, another future filled with hope.
